Tolštejn

The ruins of medieval Tolštejn Castle are one of the top tourist attractions in the region. The ruins can be found close to our resort at an altitude of 670 m above sea level.

Křížová hora

The pilgrimage site on Křížová hora (563 m), which dates back to the end of the 18th century and was declared a cultural monument in 1969, is an iconic landmark which dominates Jiřetín pod Jedlovou. The Křížová hora site includes 11 brick-built chapels with relief scenes, the Chapel of the Exaltation of the Holy Cross (12th and 13th stations of the cross) and the Chapel of the Holy Sepulchre. The pilgrimage site was awarded the title Czech Monument of the Year in 2017.

Jedlová

At the top of Jedlová Mountain (774 m above sea level) stands an observation tower 23 m high. Jedlová is the third highest peak in the Lusatian Mountains and in clear weather you can enjoy a beautiful view not only of the Lusatian Mountains, but also of the Ore Mountains and the Giant Mountains.

Jiřetín pod Jedlovou

The village of Jiřetín pod Jedlovou, the centre of which is approximately 2 kilometres from the guesthouse, is the tourism, recreational and sporting centre of the western part of the Lusatian Mountains. You will find here an information centre, a beautiful square with water features, a large sports centre with activities for children and adults as well as several other attractions.

Bohemian Switzerland National Park

One of the most beautiful places in Europe. A magnificent landscape of unique rock formations, romantic valleys, wild gorges, melancholy streams, picturesque villages, deep forests, winding roads, rock overhangs and grottos, a region entered through one of the wonders of the world - Pravčická Gate. The park lies adjacent to the Saxon Switzerland National Park.

Krásná Lípa

The town of Krásná Lípa is the centre of the Bohemian Switzerland National Park and lies approximately 8 km from the resort. The main attractions in Krásná Lípa include an exhibition about Bohemian Switzerland and of course the fact that the town is the gateway to the eastern part of the National Park. The Baroque church of St. Mary Magdalene and a Baroque timbered house with a wooden arcade known as “U Frinda”, which stands right on the main square, also rank among the attractions offered by the town of Krásná Lípa. On the same square you will also find the Křinický brewery which brews Falkenštejn beer.

Saxon Switzerland National Park and its surrounding area

The Saxon Switzerland National Park easily accessible from our resort and many places of interest there are within easy reach, so to speak, and it is certainly worth getting to know the region of our neighbours, offering a wealth of natural beauty, historical monuments and other attractions. The most famous rock formation in the National Park is the Bastei Rock Bridge which ranks among the most popular destinations for excursions in this region.

Visiting our German neighbours

Our German neighbours also have some destinations which are not part of the National Park, but which certainly do have their own special charm, are only a few kilometres from our resort and which are certain to delight both you and your children.

Such places include the romantic ruins of Oybin Castle and Monastery or the Butterfly House in the spa town of Jonsdorf.

Also worth a mention is the steam train which runs every day between the railway station in Zittau and the climatic spa towns of Oybin and Jonsdorf.
